We all have different ways of managing stress.
Some people try to control everything around them, hoping to create order and stability. This approach can help to a point, but when we think we can control everyone and everything (the world), there’s a better way to manage our stress.
Holding on tightly can begin to manifest in our physical bodies, like that tension we feel in our neck and shoulders from “carrying the weight of the world.”
Taking the time to relinquish control and release into a restorative pose can bring us the surrender our body really needs.
