My yoga journey began years ago when I was looking for an alternate form of exercise. I was hooked after my first class! Being fairly athletic for most of my life, I loved the way yoga challenged me physically with each posture I learned.
Ever since my yoga journey lead me to take my 200-hr level training. There are no words to describe how amazing an experience it was! My yoga practice has now evolved from more than just a physical practice on my mat to something that I incorporate through my day-to-day activities to de-stress, keep me focused on what’s important, and stay grounded.
As a certified health coach and certified yoga teacher, it’s a great pleasure for me to be able to support people to find balance in their lives through proper nutrition as well as all of the healing benefits that come from an invigorating yoga practice!
I encourage you to put everything else aside and treat yourself to some “me” time on your mat focusing on yourself and how perfect you are!

When yoga came into my life the focus was physical practice and then I discovered the powerful effects of calming my mind and energy with breath work and meditation. With my discovery, I began my journey through teacher training and my life changed. After my 200hr training, I started Vikara Yoga, a boutique yoga studio in the core of London Ontario. I continued with my studies and have now attained my 1000hr Professional Level Certification. In 2016 my husband and I moved to a property close to Strathroy to enhance my desire to share yoga. I teach private or smaller classes and organize retreats all with the intention to assist students in growing their practice. My classes offer a combination of breathwork, meditation, and flow to promote the experience of a union of the mind, body, and spirit. Please view my website for more information at https://vikarayoga.com or our Facebook at vikarayogawellness. I also run a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Corunna, Ontario. Bailey Fagan
200-hr YTT
Bailey’s introduction to yoga and journey began in 2005. Initially attending classes as a means to connect with her new community, her practice quickly evolved from the physical aspects of yoga, and transitioned to realize the mental and spiritual benefits.
Through multiple moves (communities and careers), Bailey’s practice supported each transition, presenting opportunities to practice in many wonderful studios between London, Toronto, and Stouffville, in addition participating and volunteering with the Power Of Movement fundraiser benefiting the Arthritis Reasearch Foundation.
Often contemplating the opportunity to expand her knowledge of the practice for personal development, it wasn’t until she set roots down in her hometown of Tiverton, that she found the time, support, and encouragement to enrol in her first 200 hour YTT with DevaTree School of Yoga. The training was life-changing – bringing a sense of awakening – and with the support of her teachers and Kula, Bailey had discovered her passion for teaching.
Providing a safe and supportive space, Bailey offers classes designed with purpose – helping students find a deep connection between body, mind, and breath. Cultivating clarity, calmness, and confidence, Bailey currently offers uplifting private individual and small group classes, with a gentle guided awareness.
Bev McLelland
Always being a physically active person Beverley first came to yoga approximately 15 years ago for the exercise, going regularly to classes as well as doing her own practice. It was her daughter, already being involved in the training of yoga and sharing some leadership roles that repeatedly would mention to her she should teach yoga, for many years she was comfortable at being a student. The opportunity became available and her sister-in-law was one of the faculty of her first 200 hours. During her training, she recognized a clear path that she wanted to be on, and went from the point of thinking, she could not teach yoga to thinking she cannot, not teach yoga. The study of yoga continues to fascinate her, the complexity as human beings, combined with not only the physical but also emotional and spiritual and how every part of our being is affected and connected.
This training opened doorways to a constant practise and reaping the benefits, soon to follow with a passion to share. What a gift! Sharing the tools to lead a healthy and balanced life. Putting this practice to use every day to help diminish stress in her very busy life and to continue to build a healthy immune system, bringing a calmness and peace. Also learning by taking some time and giving back to herself with the practice of yoga, to replenish, and rejuvenate, from there it only can overflow outward. “Peace is defined as a quiet heart”, author unknown.
Beverley’s yoga classes are designed for the students present, with pose variations and alternative poses suggested, to make it all levels yoga, beginners are always welcome as well as long time yogiis. The movements with focus and grace, as we enjoy the combination of the poses, flowing in a sequence is a prayer like dance not caring which one leads, the body or the breath.
Her intention is to provide a safe space for students to explore, strengthen the body, increase flexibility and find balance in mind, body and spirit, with never any competition to yoga, while being encouraged to just do your best. Having a great appreciation for the practice of yoga and its benefits along with feeling grounded, having a keenness for knowledge and understanding, Beverley’s joy of teaching lightens her heart. She enjoys meeting her students were they are at.
Bev began teaching in 2011, she teaches twice a week at the Kincardine United Church, for more information visit her website at Awakening-yoga.ca or email bev@awakening-yoga.ca

“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.”
― Rumi
I came to yoga over ten years ago, studying under various teachers and traditions. At first, it was the physical practice that lit me up and helped me to connect with my body and calm my mind. Since then, my practice has expanded and I have found enormous gifts in my breath and in yoga philosophy, both on and off the mat. I adore my yoga practice for the strength, balance, and flexibility it brings to all aspects of my life. Whether I am teaching classes to adults, to my students at school, playing with my own children at home, or in my own personal practice, yoga has given me the tools I need to be more present, focused, and healthy.
Recognizing the transformative power of yoga in my own experiences, I decided to explore more formal training to deepen my own personal practice and to share the gift of yoga with others. I am a graduate of the Lotus Centre Teacher Training program (2008) and the DevaTree 200-hour Cross-Disciplinary Teacher Training (2014). I have my first degree in Reiki and a 100-hour Children’s Yoga Teacher certificate through Children’s Garden Yoga. I have also completed DevaTree’s HeartRise training (2014). In 2015, I began assisting the HeartRise Children’s Yoga Teacher Training and am a teacher in that program now. 2015 also saw the completion of 100 hours in Integrative Anatomy and Therapeutics.
My yoga classes come from a place of deep love and compassion, providing a safe environment for students to learn and grow their own personal yoga practice. My love of life brings joy to my yoga classes and extends off the mat into the world. Currently, I teach Yoga Grooves at Shangrila in London. Yoga Grooves is a mixed class of yoga and dance. No experience in yoga or dance is necessary – only a willingness to play! This class runs Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:15. Please contact me through the email link below or by phone at 519-777-0475 for further information.

I can’t even tell you when exactly I discovered yoga, but I can tell you that it has had a huge impact on my life over the years. The more I practiced, the more I wanted to learn and with only a simple desire to deepen my practice, I received my 200 hour yoga certification from DevaTree School of Yoga in 2012. Five years later, I taught my very first yoga class and fell in love! There was no looking back and as time and money allowed, I went on to receive 600 hours of yoga teacher training. (And there is still so much to learn!)
Over the years I have become passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with others both on and off the mat. From my young violin and viola students who learn to plant their feet into the earth and play from their heart to working with others on their personal healing journeys through energy work, the teachings from the mat integrate into it all. From being present in the moment with one’s heartbeat and breath, to the strength and flexibility of mind and spirit, yoga has so much to offer.
I am currently teaching an online Chair Yoga Class on Friday mornings from 9:45am-10:45am. Reach out to connect if you would like to come play! All levels are welcome.

Contact Katie about Restorative Yoga, Grief Yoga, and healing forest hikes.
Hey there, I’m Katie Gayatri Jeresky, owner of Peaceful Pine Wellness. I’m on my own journey to find peace in my life and I’m grateful your compass lead you here.
Peaceful Pine Wellness is a culmination of my life’s journey through healing, nurturing my body, creating self-love and positive body image, rediscovering my inner strength, and finding peace in a busy world.
I started this journey, like I’m sure you did, because I was in pain emotionally, and physically burnt out. I was craving more out of life. I was craving healing, peace, happiness, and strength, and a deeper connection with the natural world and myself. As a teenager, my journey led me to yoga, hiking, singing, and expressive arts, and thus started my transformational path to wellness and DevaTree School of Yoga.
Peaceful Pine Wellness offers well-being services through healing paths with yoga, mindfulness, meditation, hiking, and nature connections, so you can rediscover wellness, find your footing, and breathe again. Because we could all use a compass to journey through life’s uneven terrain.

Laura Akira Johnson
E-RYT500
Laura came to yoga because she thought it would make her stronger during a time when her body was weak. And it did… but it didn’t stop there. Over time, she realized Yoga was making her a better human.
Laura is inspired by the journey of life – particularly her love of movement, rhythm and music. She strives to share this passion in her classes, through layering the focus of breath and natural alignment onto the dance of Yoga.
She received her 200hrs Yoga Teacher Training from The Lotus Centre in London Ontario in 2010 and her 500hrs from DevaTree in 2015. Her practice and teachings have deepened through trainings with teachers such as Todd Norian (Ashaya Yoga – Touch of Grace Hands-on Adjustments Teacher Training), Sadie Nardini (Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga – Revolution Teacher Training), Brenda Dowell (DevaTree School of Yoga – Beyond the Basics; Advanced Asana and Integrative Anatomy Teacher Training) to name a few.
“Practice love until you remember that you are love.” – Swami Sai Premananda
Come and share a practice with me at the beautiful and quaint Yoga East in London, Ontario (537 Ontario Street, at the corner of Princess Avenue) on Tuesdays from 7:15pm – 8:30pm Space is limited to 10 students so contact me personally to reserve your spot. I run sessions throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring (mostly 8 week sessions). Next session begins November 8th and ends December 13th (6 weeks)
These classes are playful and challenging, mostly Vinyasa based but I don’t like to be limited to one style so this is subject to change as we “go with the flow” ; ) I like to play music, I like to laugh (especially at myself), I like to make you sweat and help inspire you to believe in yourself. I promise there will be moments of awkwardness as we play with weird shapes and challenge our limits and boundaries. Keeping our bodies and souls safe is always a priority so everyone is encouraged to listen to their bodies needs as I firmly believe there is very little room for ego in yoga. If I could summarize in one sentence why I love yoga so much it would be this: Yoga has taught me how to pick myself up after I’ve fallen.
So get ready to fall, get ready to fail… and watch as your magic unfolds.
Om Shanti,
Laura

I simply love helping others, I feel confident teaching a variety of students but especially to the population that suffers from physical limitations but possess a vast amount of determination. The progress I get to witness is incredible the change in the human body is fascinating. For this simple reason, I keep on learning and exploring more so I’m able and more qualified to assist in variable situations with a wide range of students.
By nature, I’m very creative and this comes in very handy in building classes and creating a unique environment.
My goal is to create a class where students have fun; where they feel comfortable, where it doesn’t matter how they look or what they wear but what matters is that at the end of their class, they glow, smile, and feel accomplished.
My studio motto is, “Start where you are, Use what you have, and Do what you can”

My personal yoga journey began when I was a young adult and I am deeply grateful for my practice and the inner wisdom that has been illuminated. I am happily married to a wonderful guy named Jeff and between us we have 2 awesome daughters and 2 great sons. Canoe tripping, gardening, photography, and art are my other passions. I achieved my 200-hour YTT certification in 2012 from Carolyn Weatherson at Maha Pura Yoga in Guelph. Along with several workshops taken at Toronto Yoga Conferences, I attended a trauma workshop at Kripalu with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk. My Deva Tree training includes the 100-hour Integrative Anatomy and Therapeutics with talented Brenda Dowel, the 50-hour Art of Assisting with amazing Shannon Crow, and the 100-hour Down Dogs and Doshas with beautiful Bija Repta. I currently assist others on their own yoga journeys at the wonderful Yoga Barn on Lake Rosalind near Hanover. My yoga journey is still just beginning and I know with certainty that my life’s purpose is to share yoga with many more people now and after my retirement from teaching high school in 2018. Open up to the world within and the world will open up to you.

“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” -BK Iyengar.
When I found yoga, I found a piece of myself. A piece of a puzzle that had been misplaced and forgotten.
Funny enough, I had experimented with yoga many times throughout my life, but it wasn’t until my health coaching clients weren’t getting the results they desired, that I realized that something was missing.
Intuitively I knew that I was falling short with my coaching when it came to working on the emotional and spiritual aspects of the Self and knew that yoga teacher training could bring that aspect into my work. Never did I realize the impact that it would have, not just for my clients, but also in my life.
Since my YTT and Bhakti Heart Fire training, I have blended yoga into my health and life coaching practice, allowing my clients to dive deeper and experience greater healing than I could have ever imagined.
I work alongside my husband offering wellness retreats, workshops, and online coaching for those who are seeking health and spiritual growth. We have an intimate home studio and retreat center located in Horseshoe Valley Ontario.

Alejandro Zuluaga
200hr YTT
Alejandro encountered Hatha yoga at the age of 18, and for 10 years it was a place to go to for safety and tranquility. For the past 5 years, I have embarked on a healing journey where my practice continues to grow from a place of refuge into a path of action and a lifestyle of returning to an embodiment.
Since 2009 I have been working with homeless populations, youth at risk, addictions, and mental health. Yoga, meditation, and dancing have been the tuning-balancing practices to continue exploring and honoring this body-mind phenomenon in relation to our collective experience.
My praxis is based on returning to this present moment by abandoning oneself to the breath, the impulse, and the physical practice. The intention is to expand the awareness of our communal connection.
The joy of belonging. We are all one.

Yoga has carried me through so many experiences in the last 20+ years. It has been my church, my forest, my ocean, my home – all the places that offer me sanctuary to build my resilience for the world outside my heart. It was by chance and good fortune that I was able to take my practice in the direction of neuro-rehabilitation and embodied cognition. I am presently focusing on private teaching and counsel, as well as the healing craft of storytelling. My practice is currently full. I will update this bio when my wait list opens up again.

What I love about kids yoga is that it can be loud but it can also be surprisingly quiet. I love surprises! Also, the feed back in a kids yoga class is very forthcoming (good bad and indifferent! lol!). We all learn so much that way; especially the teacher.
What I love about teaching private sessions is the same; minus the loud part (usually). The feedback can be immediate. It can be verbal. It can be seen in the breath. It can be seen in the body. All of this feedback allows me to tailor a practice to the person in front of me, and this can also be full of surprises!
Curiosity is driving my next steps and my current practice. Movement with purpose to make a sustainable yoga practice is where I’m headed.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you have something surprising to tell me. (i seriously love surprises!)

Brittanie’s expression of yoga, like her, is not so mainstream, incorporating various styles to fit the specific needs of each individual. Each group class is anchored in connection with self through breath and honoring where you are, moment by moment, with the focus on how it feels rather than how it looks. Honoring the unique shapes each body creates. For Brittanie, yoga and meditation ignited a journey within, offering a deeper understanding of self while finding alignment and balance. View her website bbjourneywithin.com if you are interested in yoga therapy, children’s yoga, group classes, and moon ceremonies.

My yoga practice began in 2005 when my swim coach introduced yoga as a part of our dryland training. We had a class once every week after practice and I always found that I felt really good after coming home from yoga.
After that I was hooked.
I started taking classes in the community and enjoyed trying different styles of yoga. I found that yoga brought a certain peace and balance to my life.
In 2012, I completed Devatree’s 200hr cross-disciplinary yoga teacher training program.
Outside of yoga, I enjoy training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, running, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Hello, from my earliest memories, I have always been in awe of all of those quiet and un-noticed things around us – the gentle rays of the morning sun, the solitary song of the first bird to wake at dawn, the caressing waves on the shore. They have been the source of joy and meaning through my life. So, it was only natural that I would feel this same mysterious awe when I first experienced yoga and felt the rhythm of the breath and the body and mind listening to each other. After 25 years of yoga and meditation with various other modalities mixed in and training with the Esther Myers Yoga Studio and Deva Tree School of Yoga, you will still find me allowing space for that quiet world that communicates with us on the wave of our breath. In earlier years, my personal practice led me to pursue my Bachelors of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition as well as certification as a personal trainer, which helped to form a solid knowledge base for experiencing the interconnections present in the body. After a beautiful home birth and a self led recovery from diastasis recti, I come with the experience of a mother embracing all that comes along with it. Leading classes for Mums has been my dream, one that I have the good fortune to be doing through the incredible community of Babies Naturally, led by Carol Peat, a leading expert in the field of childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting.

My journey with yoga began almost 20 years ago, yet it wasn’t until I studied with DevaTree that I really honed my relationship to my body’s wisdom. This is the ultimate foundation for my teaching, to help culitvate body wisdom by observing of sensation and connection to breath. This process really allows the ability to respond to what movement your body was asking for in that moment. I believe in empowering each student to decide what feels good for them, as I support and guide from the sidelines. You are your own authority.
Taking the “shoulds” out of it, and inviting you to find your personal practice of Yoga.
I teach at BPM Fitness & Yoga, a holistic studio grounded in community, acceptance and self-compassion. Hope to see you soon xo

The DevaTree 200-hour teacher training changed my life. Not only did I make some wonderful new friends that I will treasure forever, I learned so much about myself and about the practice of yoga. I am fascinated by the human body and what it can do. I incorporate this fascination with the energy connections from the earth and offer both a gentle and a more strenuous class where we focus on body awareness and awe and build confidence to try new poses. Having spent time in recovery, I know the value of humility, and trying and falling out of a yoga pose helps us to eliminate the ego—a key component of success both in yoga and in life.
I am also beginning to work with a local fire department to offer yoga as a tool to manage stress and prevent PTSD, as well as strengthen core muscles and improve the flexibility of the firefighters.

Hello, I facilitate yoga detox retreats at my retreat centre, Willow Creek Country Inn, located off the shores of Great Lake Huron in beautiful Bayfield, Ontario.
I have been passionate about digestive health for over a decade, after resolving various health symptoms through bodily detox. This passion led me to study holistic nutrition.
After graduating as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I further trained in Advanced Detoxification. I quickly recognized the vastly overlooked, yet immensely important distinction between detox and biotherapeutic drainage. So finally I decided to specialize in Colon Hydrotherapy.
After much experimentation and design, I have created a comprehensive detox program that is fully catered and carefully guided. I have a great team here at Willow Creek and we collectively bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our detox retreats.
Call me to inquire how to detox safely, to partake in our deeply nourishing program, or to customize a retreat of your own! We are your health destination.

Emma O’Connor
Hi there Beautiful People!
My name is Emma O’Connor, owner of Femme Force Fitness in London, Ontario. Femme Force Fitness is not like your typical “big box” gym – we are a unique, women’s only facility where every woman is treated equally no matter what their shape, size, fitness level, age, or ability. I firmly believe that complete fitness includes the whole complex of the mind, body, and soul! It is this belief that drives me to create a safe, encouraging, supportive “community” energy at Femme Force.
I am proud to share that the strong vibes of love, positivity, and family in our gym encourage women to appreciate what their bodies can do for them and recognize that their minds are just as powerful as their bodies! That’s where our motto comes from – “STRONG MINDS STRONG BODIES”. The moment you change your perception, is the moment you rewrite the chemistry of your body. This philosophy has lead me on a path to incorporate yoga into my life as I work on creating balance in my mindy/body/soul complex. My yoga journey continues to be beautiful and empowering!
By offering programs such as boot camp, kick boxing, self defense, Fun Fit For Kids, and yoga, it is my hope that I can continue to find ways to reach out to women and children and give them tools that will truly help them LOVE and honor their bodies as they are – PERFECT, WHOLE, AND COMPLETE. YOU ARE ENOUGH.

I am a semi-retired school teacher, who has traveled to many places in the world coaching track and field and competing in various running events. I found my yoga in 2001 when I first retired from full-time teaching and went to the Rhinebeck Mountains in New York for an environmental conference. The highlight of my week proved to be the early morning, mountainside yoga practices. I have continued practising since then, attending training sessions and workshops, and started leading classes in 2009. Most recently, I graduated from the DevaTree 200hr YTT. It was incredibly challenging for an old gal like me, but so rewarding in every respect! My thanks to all the staff at DevaTree for helping me continue on my journey.
Currently I am teaching classes at Yoga Shala of Saugeen and Fitness Corner in Port Elgin and Southampton. My newest class is AMRITA~Yoga for Seniors. (I chose the name AMRITA as it means “Nectar of Immortality” in Sanskrit.)

Always inspired by our innate creative and expansive nature, I have been practicing yoga for over a decade and have learned tremendous life lessons from loving and experienced yoga teachers near and far. I am a trained and certified Children’s Yoga Teacher (Rainbow Kids Yoga, Deva Tree School of Yoga) who strives to offer a nurturing atmosphere that gently encourages children to relax, grow and have fun. In each of my yoga offerings I interweave stories, songs, games and poses, allowing children to learn in a multi-sensory environment.
I hold a Masters Degree in Human Studies and am a Registered Social Worker. Having worked directly with trauma survivors for many years, I have witnessed time and again the power of resilience and self-awareness, tools we can all access to help us navigate life’s challenges.
Luna Kidz Yoga has been offering classes at Cedar Street Yoga Studio in Sudbury since 2011 and starting in January 2013, classes will be held in 2 outlining communities. Kids Karma Yoga classes are also provided within the classroom setting for various school-aged children in the Greater Sudbury Area. As well, I am available for yoga birthday parties and celebrations of all kinds.

Yoga is so unique and personal for everyone in every moment of their life! Yoga embraced me and began to weave itself into the fabric of my work life as a Kindergarten teacher, my family life as a wife and a mother, my relationships and then eventually into the very way my mind and body and soul were being formed. It is as though I gradually began to live “yoga” as a way of life, so organically and day by day that it was just a natural becoming. I became rooted in yoga.
Now that I have completed 200 hours of yoga training, I stand at a new “edge” where I have the opportunity to share my love of all things yoga: postures, thinking, breathing, meditation, relaxation, wonder, curiosity, discovery and exploration. I am so eager to see where yoga will take me next in this journey and am honoured that others, adults and children, may choose to explore alongside me as we learn with one another through engaging in yoga. As a recently certified children’s yoga teacher, I am passionate to begin sharing yoga with children.
I have created “BE” …an experience of yoga where the mind and body and soul come home. At “BE” we will work together, privately or in small groups, to create a yoga experience that is tailored to exactly where you happen to “be” in life…. here and now. Just as life looks different every day and every moment, our yoga will look and feel different each time we come to our mat. So, I will take the time to connect with you and then we will explore and discover together as our body and mind and soul find a home to return to. Let’s become embodied, present and curious….

“You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.”

I came across the art of yoga in 2001. I acquired a bad back as a result of a fall from Scaffolding. I went to all the avenues you can think of to achieve relief including cortisome shots. Nothing worked. I could not sit down for almost 2 years. Then I started to attend yoga classes and I really started to feel relief. I attended 2 – 3 classes a weeks and within 3 months I was feeling like a new person. I was able to go to the movies again and to dinner. I have kept up my practice and in 2010 I attended the 200 hour “Yoga Certification Course” with Deva Tree. Once I graduated, I taught classes at a Studio in Tillsonburg. Once I retired from my regular job, I decided to start my own practice. I am presently teaching at the Station Arts Centre in Tillsonburg.
If you are experiencing any back issues and you would like to try a natural way to receive relief, drop me a line and I will be happy to share my experience with you.
If you have difficulties getting up off the floor to acomplish yoga moves, why not try chair yoga. You will be surprised with all the poses you can accomplish with the use of a chair.
I look forward to your inquiries.

Hi, I am Joey – and yes I am a yogi. This all started a few years back but if it wasn’t for the skills I learned on my mat I would not have been a member of the Canadian swim team and national record holder in 6 events. My practice of yoga started during a time in my life when I trained 6 days a week 12 months a year in and out of the pool. Despite learning breath control in the hundreds of hours swimming it wasn’t until the first yoga class that I feel like I learned how to really breathe. That kind of deep connection with one’s self is what drives me to learn, explore and experiment. My intention for teaching is to allow others to feel a greater connection with themselves and the universe – and maybe get a stronger and more limber body in the process.

The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.
– T.K.V Desikachar
Katherine has been practicing yoga since 2005 while she was attending Western University. Initially, she began practicing for a physical challenge that would complement her dance training and ease her mind from the stress of school, but she ultimately discovered the power of breath awareness. After completing her Bachelor of Social Work and her placement on a clinical mental health team, Katherine understands the stress of everyday life. She believes that incorporating a daily practice of yoga and meditation has the power to support our ability to cope with our environments, transforming our thoughts and interactions with others.
In Katherine’s classes, you will experience the freedom to explore your own personal practice, incorporating creativity and finding a balance between effort and ease.

Katrina Murphy
I became a dedicated yoga practitioner more than ten years ago. As an avid athlete, I was searching for an activity that added variety to my training programme but also something that would give me a chance to slow down. So much of training and life is about being faster and stronger. Running, cycling, swimming, and strength training left me out of breath. Practicing yoga, I found my breath, my thoughts, and my heart.
My love of sports led me to a career as a Health and Physical Education teacher. I have been teaching children for over 20 years. My experiences include all ages in and out of the classroom. Yoga changed how I teach. First and foremost, we PLAY—all ages. Second, we take care of each other always remembering to be kind and truthful. We become a community through which its citizens can develop to their full potential.
I visit schools teaching yoga in the classroom and I currently teach at Studio 2 for Yoga and Wellness in Georgetown, Ontario. I am also branching out to provide in home fitness for families and children.

Kelsey Corbett is honoured to be here to share her Yoga Journey with you. After struggling to cope with her unique mental health for most of her childhood and adolescence, Kelsey was introduced to Yoga through Mindfulness, Relaxation and Meditation- three things that did not come easy!
This led to a process of self-acceptance and compassion for body, mind, and heart and an exploration of the self through Yoga, on and off the mat.
Yoga is an opportunity to get to know yourself a little more, however, you have shown up. Through that practice of self-awareness, beginning to open one’s body, mind, and heart to Self Compassion, Self Kindness, and even Self Love.
It is a practice, it is a process and it is an adventure.
Simply try your best to honour who you are, exactly as you are, to send yourself a bit of that love, kindness, and compassion, and to have some fun along the way! That is what Yoga is all about, that is what Life is all about!

Curves – My Body
I took ownership of Curves London Northwest (NW) in November 2012. I went to Curves once when I was about seventeen years old, with my mom. Frankly I only went a couple of times; I found it monotonous and well, boring. It was because of this experience I knew what to do to make it fun, cultured, supportive, results driven and wait- did I say…FUN? I hired all the right people and we got to work offering higher impact workouts and rolling out whatever we could to help our members achieve great results! I associate Curves with , “my body” because it is what got me back into shape after a lifelong hiatus and what keeps me motivated on my own journey, through all my members, my best teachers!
In addition to our awesome fitness programs, we rolled out Curves Complete, a nutritional solution that combines meal plans, fitness and one-on-one coaching all in one place. To date, our members have lost nearly 2000 pounds! In, 2014 our location won in the Best Weight Loss Center category of the London Free Press’, Best of London issue! I was so proud when it happened because it was unsolicited and a wonderful surprise!
Since the beginning we have come so far, workouts tailored to women of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels. We got all NEW circuit equipment which is outfitted the latest fitness tracking technology. There have been so many amazing moments within those walls and I feel privileged to witness them!

Expedition Inner Wisdom Incorporated: “Exploring the Inner Landscape”
corporate, public, and private empowerment coaching, classes, and retreats
with Linda Weir B.A., M.Ed., RYT200
Expedition Inner Wisdom Incorporated (expeditioninnerwisdom.ca) creates custom, corporate and non-corporate, private and public experiences (a.k.a. expeditions) that playfully and reflectively promote personal and professional growth through spiritual, non-denominational, solitary, and interactive exploration of the intra personal (knowing your heart) and the interpersonal (understanding the heart of relationships). With the needs and interests of the particular client group in mind, tailor-made expeditions focus on increasing access to inner wisdom through a variety of gentle, imaginative activities (that include yoga to the degree the client desires). Activities are designed to foster curiosity and discovery of one’s own inner strengths and one’s connectedness to others and to nature. Specifically, participants explore a more conscious awareness and honing of intuition and intention. Venues and activities vary according to the particular client group.
Empowerment expeditions are designed to ignite the creative power and innate wisdom deep within the individual. These expeditions of the internal landscape come in the form of retreats, workshops, seminars, or even “parties” depending on the needs/interests of the clients. Guiding the client’s ability to tap into and further develop his/her true, magnificent potential is accomplished through a layering of activities that can include, but are not limited to, sitting/walking meditation, hiking, biking, and self-reflection through guided journaling. To some degree, depending on the target audience, yoga is incorporated into each event, as it acts as an optimal vehicle for enhancing the body/mind/spirit connection that is so critical to the fruitful exploration of the inner landscape. Yoga can also be the entire content. Venues vary based on client need and means. Participants can expect to feel re-inspired and replenished by the discovery (or rediscovery) of the infinite power within that uplifts not only the individual but, by extension, those people he/she comes in contact with.
Yoga expeditions come in many forms from the more traditional, indoor yoga classes at varying locations to yoga hikes and gatherings in some of nature’s most beautiful spots. View some of our previous yoga adventure sites in the pictures on our website expeditioninnerwisdom.ca. Currently, we are providing private, custom, small group yoga and meditation classes in the London, Ontario area. We do offer some pro bono work for groups/organizations that promote the greater good especially as it relates to care of our planet and one another. This summer 2018, a number of yoga adventures will take place in and around the Turkey Point Provincial Park area by the shores of beautiful Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada. We adore sunrise, sunset, and moonlight yoga classes on the beach! No experience with yoga is necessary, and experienced yogis have enjoyed our classes as well. For details on us creating your custom group expedition into the land of wellness and/or for upcoming yoga classes open to the public, please visit our website to check out our “Upcoming Events” tab and/or send us an email through our “Contact Us” tab or email us at lukashweir@gmail.com!

200 hr YTT
I have always been amazed by the Mind-Body connection. My journey began almost 20 years ago when I mastered the 3 Levels of Therapeutic Touch. Several years later I witnessed the wellness benefits of yoga -both mentally and physically.
Working as a Registered Nurse, yoga has allowed me to decrease my stress, improve my flexibility, and aid in my overall wellness. This inspired me to continue my education in the field of yoga.
My vision is for yoga to be accessible to everyone – no matter your athletic ability, previous injuries, or experience. Drawing on my nursing knowledge I can assist you in finding modifications for poses that work for you.
Restorative yoga is a passion of mine, allowing the body to rejuvenate through postures and breathing techniques.
I work with individuals as part of their healing journey in small groups &/or in private sessions. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned in the practice of yoga I look forward to assisting you in your own journey on the mat.

CYT
Marcia Spencer, R.ECE, Kundalini and Children’s Yoga Teacher at Town Yoga Kincardine is on a mission to plant the seeds of mindfulness, consciousness, connection, and the community at the earliest of ages but loves ‘holding space’ for souls of all ages from beginners to seasoned yogis. She is passionate about people finding their own version of Yoga and that one style does not fit all.
After realizing she needed to make some changes in her own life after a traumatic truck accident, struggles with parenting (children with ADHD, Anxiety, depression, and Learning Disabilities), and her own hormonal and mental health issues, she woke up to the fact that everything begins with the mind, so she took her health into her own hands with Kundalini Yoga, meditation, and other weird, wild, and life-changing healing modalities.
She is currently growing her Town Yoga business, getting ready to launch the ‘magiCALMess Parenting’ course for parents of High and Special Needs Children, teaching Kundalini Yoga, Children’s Yoga, and Tot&Caregiver Yoga, Kindergarten R.ECE for BWDSB, Writer, and facilitator of a ‘Daily Intention’ initiative at KTTPS, Co-Creator of KTTPS Outdoor Learning Space and most recently the Co-Founder and Creator of GOATASANA Yoga Farm in Kincardine.
Everything Marcia has learned and continues to learn has taught her to believe in magic and that we are much more powerful than we could have ever imagined.

My yoga journey started many years ago on and off my mat at a time when I was looking for something deeper and less stressful physically for my body. I didn’t really connect the mind to the physical postures of yoga until my 200 hr YTT at Deva Tree. It was here that my spiritual connection grew deeper and evolved to where I am today. Adding mindfulness, meditation, breath work and the physicality of yoga has brought me to a deeper level of allowing me to better care for and listen to my body and what it needs. As an RMT (Massage Therapist), RHN (Holistic Nutritionist), and RYT (Yoga Teacher) allows me to find and create a balance in this crazy fun world that is right for me. To allow me to be still….quiet and disconnect so that I can truly connect to what is important in my life…. that’s magical! Helping others achieve their balance in life gives me great pleasure and joy…. it’s about finding your healthy balance….it’s not one size fits all!
I have a home-based private clinical practice as well yoga studio in the beautiful village of Arkona nestled along the rolling hills of Lambton Shores. Please check out my website for future classes….www.balancedlifeholistichealth.ca

To me, yoga is so much more than a series of poses. It has profound effects on my mental well being, my flexibility both on and off my mat and is a very spiritual practice. It’s a place where I can truly be myself and love myself as I am at that moment. It is a time of stillness when I need calm, and a place of energy when I need uplifting. What a beautiful life to be blessed to both experience and share yoga with others.

Miriam Kleinsasser
My name is Miriam Kleinsasser. I live in Port Stanley ON where I run Connected Yoga Studio.
Growing up in a farming town in Saskatchewan, I am used to and love small communities. I have always loved and respected animals and nature, I feel very connected with animals and they are very grounding for me. Being from Saskatchewan,I was never really around a large body of water but like so many people, I fell in love with Port Stanley and the people that live here. I love meeting new people and helping people. My goal in yoga is to create yoga classes to help people connect to themselves and find in a yoga practice what I have come to find.
Yoga has allowed me to focus on myself and quiet my mind. I always feel I can just let of go and be one with the mat, which is very important because of all the distractions in our society today. We do yoga to get to know who we are and what we need to live a balanced lifestyle. The human body amazes me more every day. I always look forward to learning more about how we are connected to our mind and body and I hope to share this adventure with all new and existing yogis.
Connected Yoga ties everything together. The people that we connect with and get to know and grow with. Just as our body grows and becomes more flexible and stronger so does our mind.
We are connected in one way or another.

My yoga journey started over 7 years ago when I registered for my first class thinking it would be an ideal complement to my rigorous athletic schedule. Little did I know it would change my life in every way possible!
Since then, I have introduced mindfulness and meditation to my daily living, along with asana practices that keep me feeling strong and full of life. I am blessed to have studied with Devatree and have moved forward in my yoga experience by opening my own yoga business, Wildflower Yoga.
In addition to Wildflower, I have combined my passion for yoga with my passion for helping, becoming involved in a number of organizations that strive to teach others about the benefits of both mindfulness and yoga and hopefully encourage people to introduce both into their daily lives.
I am filled with gratitude and love for all my fellow Yogis and for all folks just beginning their journey. I hope your day is as beautiful as you.

I found yoga (or perhaps it found me) in my late 40s and it continues to be a transformative and evolving endeavour. My approach to both yoga teaching and my own practice weaves together pragmatic and esoteric elements in a way that engages mind, body, and soul in an eclectic way while honouring the rich and vast yoga tradition. I do not teach yoga online but do offer unique small group classes in a delightful yurt with a panoramic forest view, as well as other personal development services like forest therapy and better breathing instruction, on my off-grid property near Owen Sound.

My yoga journey began 20 years ago, studying under various teachers, and experimenting with many traditions. My practice of yoga has developed both on and off the mat.
My curiosity about connecting the body, mind, and soul drew me to study Mindfulness Meditation at the University of California, where I received a certification as a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction facilitator in 2015.
To deepen my yoga practice I completed the Deva Tree 200-hour certification program in June 2016 and was elated by this transformative experience.
I currently journey with businesses and individuals to engage in mindful visioning, using yoga, meditation, and creative expression as tools to become aligned with core values and create strategic plans.
My personal vision is to create a world in which every person experiences their worth. I believe that we all seek safety, security, and visibility. I decided quickly to attend HeartRise training, without any expectations, and I’m not sure how, but I knew it would change my life.
While in training I was blown away by the love, warmth, and support shown towards all students, and the connections I’ve made with the ladies, my peers, are a special gift. I now have a sense of community.. filling me up in ways I can’t describe. Sarah Mank
Greetings,
My name is Sarah and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200). I completed my training with Devatree School of Yoga, obtaining my 200hr Cross-Disciplinary Teacher Training Certificate. I have also recently completed Heartrise with Devatree and am now a Children’s Yoga Teacher.
I have been doing my own personal practice for over twelve years, I discovered Yoga when I was in my teenage years and I fell in love with it right away. My practice lifted me up and it took me on an enlightening journey into myself, one of self-discovery and learning to self-love. I am delighted by the thought of assisting yoga practitioners on their own paths and helping them meet themselves on their mats in the challenge of self-love and compassion.
In the past I’ve done volunteer work with the LGBTQ2+ community, playing a leadership role in my college community and contributing to a Positive Space Training project. I have also worked with a diverse range of individuals in long-term care ranging from the elderly to the chronically ill.
Through Yoga, I want to empower everyone to value themselves as they are, regardless of sexual orientation, class, ability, gender, age, etc. I want to help people uncover their authentic selves so that they can be empowered to shine bright in the rest of their lives off the mat.
I teach Hatha yoga, with an emphasis on relaxation, mindfulness, body awareness, meditation, and centering throughout the practice for adults. I also value bringing spontaneity, playfulness, and body honoring into all of my classes, as well as offering modifications so that everyone can reap the most benefit possible in their personal practice. I also offer seated chair yoga for persons with disabilities and seniors and am looking forward to offering classes to children as my path develops. From my mat to yours, I look forward to sharing yoga with each person that crosses my path.

What I really love about yoga is that there is something for everyone at every stage of their life and there is always more to explore

As an educator, and parent and having been involved in numerous programs and activities with and for children, for many years I have seen a shift firsthand in our young people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being. I’m so grateful to have discovered yoga and to have personally experienced increased flexibility, improved fitness levels, and the beauty and empowerment of living a balanced, centered, and happy life.
My heart’s desire is to share the power of yoga and its many benefits both on and off the mat. With a personal philosophy that our lives and the lives of children can be enriched when we have available the tools of breath, movement, and the ability to quiet our minds and love ourselves with pure and simple acceptance I am so grateful to be living my dream. Sharing yoga with young people is a privilege and a gift in so many ways. To allow a safe place where children’s and teens’ truest selves can be encouraged and celebrated with music, stories, dance, and movement is magic on so many levels.
Teaching yoga to our youth and sharing how schools, teams, teachers, support staff, and parents can help children learn and use the power within themselves to self-regulate, de-stress, build self-esteem and become healthier, happier, more grounded individuals is a true passion.
I would love to connect with you and share more. Please contact me through the email link below or by phone at 519-756-3297.

Vanessa Vella
Hi there, my name is Vanessa!
I’m a pretty normal weirdo who strives for happiness, struggles with things ranging from Big & Important to Silly & Ridiculous, and posts way too many photos of my cats online.
One of my many interests is collecting various jobs. I am a Life Coach, Nutrition Coach, and Personal Trainer, so I decided to go ahead and became a Yoga Teacher too! I love learning, and some people might say I have a mild addiction to taking courses (I admit, I am one of those people!). You should know that my wild and crazy book-learnin’ journey to become a coach-of-all-kinds has really been a personal journey of introspection and growth – with tons of synchronicity along the way.
Like many people, I came to yoga for all the good stretching. The first few times I tried it, I hated it! I was like “Why is it so slow?!”. I now know that yoga was challenging me to Be and not Do that was unknown to me then. Since those first confusing classes, yoga has given me so much and opened me up to experiences I would have otherwise missed out on. Thanks, yoga!
As a result, I’ve always tried to keep my beginner’s mind and remember what it is like to be new to yoga, or any other thing for that matter. It’s magical the way new experiences can be fun and weird and exciting and awkward all at once. I stuck with yoga, and over time I noticed that in addition to being stretchier and stronger, my thinky and feely parts were much happier too. That’s a sweet deal!
When working with clients, I like to take Big Ideas and break them down into steps and sequence those steps in a way that makes sense, is practical, and allows people to feel successful and confident. I use this approach in my coaching and personal training sessions too! I am proud to say I have many happy and successful clients.
I chose to learn with Devatree School of Yoga because they have a strong and supportive vision of teaching yoga in a way that is student-centered, integrated, and inspired by many awesome yoga traditions.
It is hugely important for me to honour people as whole and complete beings, and to see and hear every aspect of their fascinating lives. Life is a continual journey of growth and transformation. We are all so connected and share so many experiences as humans. Email me to make a connection and journey together!
