Covid-19 Guidelines for Students
July 30, 2020

  1. Before entering the space, you'll be asked to complete a Covid-19 Screening Tool (including your name, date, and time of completion).
  2. You'll be asked to use hand sanitizer before entering the space and will be encouraged to wash your hands frequently.
  3. Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned twice per day and when visibly dirty; this includes doorknobs, light switches, toilet handles, counters, hand rails, touch screen surfaces and keypads.
  4. Please bring your yoga mat and any props you'll need such as a blanket, cushion, blocks, bolster, eye pillow and strap, if you have them. At this time, DevaTree props cannot be shared with students.
  5. Mandatory physical distancing measures will be in place to stay 2 meters (6 feet) apart from others in the classroom space and break out spaces (for lunch/breaks). Please note that people from the same social circle do not need to stay 2 meters apart.
  6. The floor will be marked for yoga mats and places for you to sit in order to maintain 2 meters distance, in the classroom and break out spaces. When wall space is required, you'll be assigned a section of wall space.
  7. The number of students will be limited in small spaces (i.e. kitchen) to one at a time depending on your location (i.e. FSA and Harmony Centre).
  8. We recommend that you take your breaks or eat lunch outside as much as possible.
  9. We recommend that you do not share common items while in training. Disinfectant wipes will be provided to clean the water cooler in between uses.
  10. Cleaner will be kept in the bathroom so that students and staff can wipe down surfaces (toilet, sink and handles) after each use.
  11. Mandatory face coverings are required in indoor spaces when physical distancing is a challenge. There will be disposable face masks provided for any student who does not have a face covering. We will also honour (without question) anyone with a facemask medical exemption.
  12. Face coverings are not required to be worn while actively engaged in physical or athletic activity such as yoga. If a staff or student would feel more comfortable wearing a face covering during yoga class they may do so. Face coverings can be temporarily removed to practice yoga.
  13. Disposable gloves are available for use by students if desired
  14. Indoor singing and chanting is not permitted according to the Ontario government guidelines. We will gather outdoors when possible to share our voices.
