A Two-Minute Chant for Anxiety, Stress Reduction, and Improved Memory

by | Aug 18, 2021 | 0 comments

In this video, Brenda McMorrow talks about the power of mantra and shares a two-minute version of a Chant and Mudra sequence recommended by The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation.

I’m pretty sure you’re going to get hooked on this quick and simple practice—it’s stuck with me ever since.

The Saa Taa Naa Maa Chant is powerful for reducing anxiety and stress levels and for increasing cognitive function. The mantra means “True Essence” and is a Kundalini Kirtan Kriya (pronounced KEER-tun KREE-a). Kirtan Kriya is Sanskrit, a classical language of India. Kirtan means “song” or “praise” and Kriya means “to do” or “action.”

The Alzheimer’s Research & Prevention Foundation recommends working your way up to the 12-minute version of the meditation, which combines chanting with moving the hands through the mudras seen in the video. As you’ll see when you practice, whether you have 2 or 20 minutes, any length can produce a sense of calm and clarity.

Brenda and I would love to hear how the chant impacted you. Let’s connect, in the comment section below!

With Love,
